Economist David Pannell Joins Our Distinguished Fellows List

David Pannell is an esteemed researcher whose work focuses on water and land conservation economics and environmental policy.

CBEAR is pleased to announce that David Pannell is joining the Center's list of Distinguished Fellows. CBEAR’s Distinguished Fellows are crucial to the work of the center, as they provide further research and understanding of agri-environmental issues.  Pannell is a professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Western Australia and is the Co-Director of the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy.  Dr. Pannell previously served as the president of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, a Director of Natural Decisions Pty Ltd, and as a Director on the Board of Land and Water Australia.

Pannell’s research focuses on water and land conservation economics and environmental policy. His work has received numerous awards such as the Quality of Research Communication award from the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society and the Vice Chancellor’s Award in Research Mentorship from the University of Western Australia. Distinguished Fellows expand the reach of CBEAR and the Center is honored that

The Center of Behavioral & Experimental Agri-Environmental Research (CBEAR) is a global community of scientists studying what leads to the adoption and persistence of conservation most effectively.  We also test to determine whether simpler application processes can deliver higher levels of program participation and landowner satisfaction.
